The credibility question was put to me from a reporter seeking my input in researching content for a book ‘The Talent Code’ becoming a best seller on how sportsmen learn to become talented at sports.
The question was in a form that I wanted to share as it has purpose to you the reader on applying faith in the teachings I am applying to you. “What does it mean to do what you do”, he went on to say we sort of know but’ “what does it feel like and how do you learn to be as good at what you do”, far from a dumb or obvious question. You may be holder of such a talent towards sport, if so have you ever thought of the mindful process, your inner programming of muscles to move in such a way for this to be achieved.
Curiosity about the interior of life of celebrated sportsmen and other people’s day-to-day work is one of the most fundamental of human impulses, the same impulse is what led to me to writing this section to the curiosity of how it feels to you reading it. My first book’s content become a hit among PGA Tour players and coaches in golf on a progressive new approach to putting that stimulated the reporters curiosity to seek me out, as it explained how I came about becoming involved in coaching sports from a successful varied professional sporting career which consisted of more than one sport.
I wish to share more insights to help your curiosity in understanding my unique coaching style of thoughts in passing on such knowledge that will have you self achieving when followed and how they came about.
Coaching sports is mainly based on having textbook knowledge. To gain recognition in the world of golf before I took up tournament pro golf was taking my varying coaching exams based on such text book knowledge. I will always remember when applying my exam answers how I disagreed with some of the answers the examiners were looking for. I remember constantly challenging the golf instructor teaching us the art of coaching from this textbook he referred to as the bible of golf. “But....how is this bible of golf going to progressively progress the tomorrow player? Is the textbook I pass on going to progress the tour player of tomorrow? I needed flexibility in the exams to challenge this for the way I look upon coaching sports such as golf & water sports an ‘Art’ form, for there is a responsibility in the wisdom you are passing on to move with the times. Does my high accolade becoming a certified ‘PGA Master Swing Coach’ make me a better coach than years of sporting wisdom of course not, but it gives people a form of conscious proof in the comfort I have earned the right to pass on trustworthy information regardless of how bad I do it they will be governed to follow and ask no questions. But... If you witness a person demonstrating an aerial somersault you wish to learn, do you ask him to teach you or the qualified source he obtained the wisdom from who cannot do them? Interesting points to get your mind receptive.
For you the reader I present you with progressive content with no long term proof of there validity stimulating your own progressive faith to follow, only words that my last progressive book was a tournament winning formula to success with having a certificate you cannot see.
You are now presuming filling in the blanks constructing a story that makes sense allowing for the content of information that does not come to mind perhaps because one never knew it so impossible not to believe its wrong. An image from your subconscious as I have been priming you with anchors to trust what I say, so your keep reading until the end from which a knowledge of knowing will be installed within your subconscious, from which your conscious will take time to catch up. Once you understand the main conclusion, it seems it was always obvious.
We use this halo effect in everyday life paying little or no attention to how we construct our own story with very little information. This is how coaches fail in the detail of approach towards each student by not collecting the relevant background information of their history in sports, emotions behind their personality, the student physical flaws, we focus only on one’s instructors goal, anchor one’s coaching plan on what we know and neglect what we do not know about the student, not knowing how the mind and body learns how to learn, which makes one’s I’Ego delusional in becoming overly confident in ones beliefs becoming prone to an illusion of control.
I am not saying that my coaching golf schooling books were wrong or any other sporting wisdom put into print, they are helping many coaches using them to make there living, we should not throw the past away there’s a lot of knowledge we can use, but we should challenge the past if were looking for progressive advancement.
You cannot use the past to project the future; you cannot use the past to say ‘this is how it’s going to be done tomorrow or next year.’ You can use the past to say ‘okay we went this far, we have to think about what’s next.‘ Otzki coaching is about installing options thats continually progress those thoughts.
In coaching there is a process to pass on the information in a stacking order like the way we learned in school, parrot fashion, which works and his a sound approach to all levels of teaching the masses. I remember reading a magazine coaching article where the golf instructor Brett was relaying how long he’s been in the game explaining talent cannot be taught, relaying what was preached at golf coaching school, players either have it or do not, and if you come across one such player, a careful approach is needed with the priority of doing no harm, ruined potential and talent has become so common. Peter Cowan a senior coach to tour players explained in an article of a book that golf coaches should not experiment on players taking them down untested ideas of swing paths to suit there I’egos of curiosity. Wise words for they could lead to all the above, wise words keeping in line with the bible of golf textbook of knowledge. But’..... I did not want to be a coach waiting for a talented player to come along for a PGA Tour pay day or to use other players switched on techniques to pass over as mine, the statements above suggest such an approach in fueling my I‘Ego for other players to follow, because that to me is not maximizing the potential of the sportsman who comes to you for help, to make them the best they can be by using that kind of limited feedback.
I wanted to bring a new way to approach coaching through the varied talents I had in learning sports. I wanted to teach students how to go down progressive roads that could lead to dead ends as such, because before those so called roads lead to dead end’s they have many junctions to roads of self improvement to get guided upon. Earlier I mentioned you cannot predict the future, and if a movement of thought idea came to mind free of any I ‘Ego interference then where did it come from? Who am I to believe solely in say my golf teachers manual because that’s been the respected way the golf swing has always been taught, how could I go about teaching new sports like wake-surfing unless I create a foundation of inner knowledge on how the muscles connect and flow in movement.
Wisdom in my sporting philosophies’ needs to be progressed. Belief to seeking out such coaching roads to take the student down so they pioneer their own technique of movement through the regression of up’s and down’s, not be governed to follow say the golf swings of others coaching manuals dictate, because that is the only way to stand up amongst the rest becoming the best is to be on a destiny of your own making.
Coaching to me is a passion of an inner quest to locate better options of movement to pass forward to the student.
Priming anchors into the student to enable such information absorbed in a deep meaningful way creating thoughts to have come from themselves.
The subconscious only responds to positive lead in words, shutting down to any leading words applying negative targeted end mistake coaching.
The challenge is in creating simplistic pathways from which students can consciously focus thoughts to precise muscle connections that connect to their subconscious creating new neuron firings of thoughts.
Understanding there inner connections thus enables their flow of thoughts and emotions to perform with confidence releasing insane self belief in becoming masters of their own sporting movement design we call technique.
So my attending golf teaching school had one purpose, to find out how my coaching peers were teaching and what knowledge they were using. Once I had diligently followed the foundation of the rules gaining my certified vessel of that knowledge, I was able to raft across the river so I could leave my vessel to apply my own set of coaching rules, these gained from years of practicing varied sports to the highest level.
A wisdom to learning the complex ‘Art’ of keeping all ones mindful thoughts of technical possibilities of actions unfiltered bubbling up through the levels of the mind into communication, to then applying within three things so the student can understand receptively taking the information into their own subconscious.
Getting back to that eventful reporters question of what I think about when coaching is complex for sure, but simplistically, I find I never switch off from looking for pathways of movement to take the client down.
I am always looking to improve there repeatable muscle sequences if they come to me with say a golf swing problem they wish to solve long term or in water sports a technical trick. I study their movements at times I keep them interested by locking into what I coined the term ‘RMM’s (Repeatable Muscle Motions) where a consistent repeatable deep thought is applied to create precise muscle connections.’
When we apply coaching drills we are installing conscious controlled actions that are easily forgotten and cannot stand up to pressure or fail to create strong long time habits, for the student is just following an artificial overall action the teacher demonstrates with no deep meaningful thought to precise areas of the body.
A precise deep thought fires a neuron signal pathway to the muscle to move in-accordance, which then gets covered in a substance known as ‘Myelin’ which seals in the signal, each time the same signal is fired myelin is added, the thicker the myelin the better the action creating strong habits, with a consistent coaching feedback to stimulate them consciously to keep payed attention to developing the acuity of their thoughts effecting ‘RMM’s, because that’s what’s needed to get physical habit with the thought process of the mind that will rise all above their peers doing drills.
No quick thirty minutes sorts a problem if a change is needed, but it does build confidence in the student to feel progress, as they look upon coaches to bring instant satisfaction, gratitude to themselves making sense of the monies they are paying for the coaching service.
I apply constant positive feedback through the process while also engaging them into what they are thinking, how does it feel, as like the reporters question to me.
As a coach I sublimely align my clients thoughts of the movement to match mine, because I know what changes they need and the key to success is this aligning so their thoughts are guided to reprogram a repeatable attachment of neuron firings through the twitch muscle pathways, to the optimal muscle movement thought sequence into their unconscious, that turns it into a new stronger habit as old movements need to be replaced by stronger signals creating new better habits into the subconscious .
Which is very much a different style of coaching in the world that was not in any exam coaching manual making it a future progressive approach towards coaching sports.
Textbooks have yet to write about such a complex unique form of coaching as part is owning the actual skill in the sport matching this with the knowledge of physiology towards linking the mind and body.
Modern day levels of commercial coaching get applied in a stacking order, taking the student through the conscious stages of drills to improve, the problem of this stacking order for the teacher is that they may become so infused with the present students they are coaching that they become unaware and forget to reset there teaching stack to suit the new student coming along. The subconscious automatically halos the past sequences of things together so the acuity of detail the drills produce gets overlooked by the coaches conscious awareness. What they see work for one student, the other may struggle, with the coach not seeing the acuity of detail needed to change in the approach of the drill in general to match there present students level of incompetence.
This challenges the next weaker student in this area to adapt, synchronizing muscles unnaturally to fill in missing chunks, similar to how we went about learning to read in school.
We may feel we are in control of our lives but we are consciously gullible to following patterns of sequences in our everyday life physiologists coined the phase anchoring, the forming of habits and suggestive priming that control our lives.
My ‘Deep Practice’ coaching process does not become effected by with actually using anchoring as a skill, allowing me to keep all my information laid out like dots of no specific path from which I connect as and when I come across levels with the client, its like learning the alphabet randomly never in the specific ABCD order.
Its like having the alphabet of muscle connections laid out I randomly connect while performing my own practice to a sport in different sections, rather than going through all the letters to get to what I need, which enables a unique insight to the acuity of process in motion being performed with no risk to the student of my passing on those moves of technique from my own ‘RMM’s. This in turn will enable the revealing acuity of detail in the students failing, that can be approached and improved. The stacking order technique cannot produce such a rich topography of detail, coaching such an approach as in conscious guided drills is blinkered in the overall acuity needed to precise muscle movements.
This unique ‘Muscle Dot Linking Technique’ also enables those that posses there own switched on technique to effectively be developed. I also feel keeping my mind fresh teaching other sports along with applying a lot of practice to those sports keep the ‘Muscle dot linking’ approach progressive to there flexibility and interchangeable connection other sports bring, that I can advise when consulting with students other sports they may be experienced in to improve awareness speeding up change by their own subconscious being primed to splice in muscle connections through an anchoring effect such muscle memory within the moments of action.
This style of coaching keeps me interested in the pioneering progress of the client because of the finer detail the process brings with much reward regardless of how talented the person may be. I get so in sync with them I actually feel my own twitch muscles working as if I am actually doing the sporting motion.
This produces so much positive energy and buzz into the session with the clients becoming entwined into there flow of movements as I intently focus on specific areas of the body at any one moment.
Applying this acuity in sections I am honing there precise muscle movement, not on what the overall action of the body in motion is doing, because focusing coaching this way you can get an overall end result with a poor muscle sequence.
Positioning ones acuity to detail this way enables a result of getting the muscles flowing effectively to ones anatomy of muscle linkage, creating an optimal fluid pathway of movement that will never need much change, because that’s the best movement one can attain so the mind gets freed to believe that’s the best they have to maximize with no what if’s in the future.
My aim is for the student to have the conscious freedom to emotionally enjoy the motion rather than consciously trying to control the emotion for the motion. This enables to become emotionally tuned to unconditionally commit to say the golf shots or aerial moves in water sports with insane confidence.
My growing experience in applying sporting talent mixed with psychology to sport has long taught me that success in sport is having the ability to change your thinking to suit the moment. But.... the problem arises when the pure thoughts being generated to the actual situation get consciously manipulated to suit the I ‘Ego. It’s a very difficult skill to obtain keeping the actual thought situation arising from your unconscious I refer as your ‘SixthSense’ from manifesting to suit your I’Ego conscious desire. An area still very much uncharted in coaching textbooks.
From my experience and success in sport throughout my years I have become wise to the ‘SixthSense’ important and vital roll along-with the enjoyment of connecting to, but’ also realizing how difficult the process to effectively use in competition say on the golf course with so much natural stimulation around that one needs to effectively reform into flowing shapes for the mind to effectively be guided by, rather than from the pictures we label through our I’Ego with words for example; trees, lakes, bunkers that the conscious mind gets distracted by making those areas named an intent of focus to avoid that actually the SixthSense interprets as a goto action.
This is especially evident when in moments of feeling pressure to stress levels rising by competition or just by standing on your local tee faced with a tree lined fairway or with water or bunkers.
A famous moment I remember when in the 2012 British Golf Open, the leader cruising to a win Adam Scott unfortunately lost the tournament by driving his ball down the eighteenth fairway into a deep bunker located in the middle. Opting to using his 3 wood to lay up short in distance of the fairway bunker, but... with all his adrenaline flowing and his ball striking accuracy and being on great form his I’Ego consciously unknowingly was not paying attention to his thoughts of intent, focusing on avoiding the bunker in the middle of the fairway, hence why picking a three wood.
Consciously he was unaware he was actually signaling to his SixthSense a go-to with a strong visual picture of the bunker his eyes focused on, although his I’Ego conscious was innocently risk assessing thinking to avoid the bunker’s location on the the fairway.
Ones subconscious can only act on a positive to create action, ‘I do not want to go’ has to be turned into a positive so the subconscious only registers ‘I want to go‘ matched with the eyes to plot the movement forward.
Unwittingly his subconscious view was of its idea in thought as the bunker being part of the fairway he wished to aim at, so the subconscious controlling his muscle movements performed the act that sent the ball with GPS guidance into the bunker to the shock of all including his conscious I’Ego self.
He actually did not know he did not know in that moment the chain of thought needed was a guiding shape with ‘No Words’ labeling the picture. Pure thought was needed in matching the ball pathway to an area of detail on the fairway led by the eyes focus as a goto. If a thought matching a word is to be added it must be ambiguous like ‘There’ I wanna go ‘There’ being a spot on the fairway.
Complexity in what seems simplicity of thought. A reason why so many golfers notch up higher scores to there constant scanning of trouble they wish to avoid that the SixthSense relates as the go to, due to the eye focus being apply to the area there thinking to avoid.
The importance of consistent success in any sporting competition is paying attention to the random thoughts you discard in casual thinking, as unprocessed thoughts bubbling away in the depths of the mind attracting the attention of the eaves dropping SixthSense to become primed to act upon, causing random glitches in movements within the heat of the moment, that has you failing with frustration to your conscious I’Ego totally unaware of creating this damaging casual thought process.
The skill is being able to focus one’s thoughts consistently only on positive actions to where you want to go and do, not on negative self destruct throw away thoughts on actions where you do not wish to go or do.
The ‘Dots Linkage’ is a technique that thrives coaching all levels of sports people, enabling a study not for there end successes so much, but the varying detail, the finer points of how their SixthSense is sequencing their movements, that leads to an effectiveness in there sporting actions. Things that get picked up by the focused attention of my third eye so to speak being the SixthSense filtering awareness into conscious to focus upon.
Part of my coaching philosophies’ is that no person is born gifted in sport with mistakes just an area meaning more time is needed.
The subconscious ‘learning how to learn’ is applying deep thoughtful practice to the discipline through ‘Time’ becoming ‘skillful’ that leads to becoming ‘talented’, as all neuron muscle signals begin with incompetence to competence of movement. Frustration and becoming impatient is a sign of disconnect. I know this from personal experience, to also being a winner in sport is ‘attaching’ that talent with insane self-belief which enables a positive flow of patient humble thoughts the subconscious acts upon. The thinking of were born talented is nothing more than cognitive disillusions.
To be a consistent winner is being able to operate at a level above your opponents’ physical or mental being.
Failures in sport accrues when one tries to balance risk in a conscious control way such like how your consciously reading the text in front of you, rather than players reacting instinctively to what actually needs to be done in the moment, pushing your own abilities at the right time, in the right moment, dictated by your SixthSense, because the future cannot be predicted, and by the time one gets enough conscious knowledge to predict the future to act upon with confidence, the time needed to apply it to win has run out.
Loss Aversion
This is especially evident when in moments of feeling pressure to stress levels rising by competition were one experiences the challenge of loss aversion, the effecting of the two minds conscious and ‘sixthsense’ being the subconscious specifically, a biological and psychological view in which negativity and escape dominate positivity and approach, for example professional golfers putt more accurately for par than birdie for fear of risking getting a bogey than for birdie, which missing they still end up with a par the ‘status quo’ of no loss no gain, I refer to as loss aversion.
This is due to the amygdala, which has a primary role as the ‘threat center’ of the brain although it is also activated in other emotional states. Pressure in competition activates the human brains mechanism that is designed to give priority to bad news, there is no comparable rapid mechanism for recognizing good news. Emotionally loaded words of thoughts quickly attract attention, the mere casual risk evaluation in the heat of competition is treated by the ‘sixthsense’ as threatening. This evokes an attenuated form in many of the reactions to the real thing, including physiological indices of emotion and even fractional tendencies to avoid or approach, recoil or lean forward bringing disaster to a water sports trick move, to accuracy on the golf course.
“Bad emotions, bad feedback have more impact than good ones, and bad information is processed more thoroughly than good. The self is more motivated to avoid bad self-definitions than to pursue good ones”.
An important thing to remember is that negative trumps the positive in many ways, and the loss aversion is one of many manifestations of a broad negative dominance that hinders performance in the sporting moment that depends far more on avoiding the negative than on seeking the positive gee up, however the boundary between good and bad, success and failure is a reference point that changes over time and depends on the immediate circumstances.
For example if in the heat of competition standing on the first tee confronted with a narrow treelined fairway with water you experience the pre nervous build up once you place your ball on the tee, you need to accept the nervous feelings then pay attention to accessing from memory the feeling of the sheer pleasure hitting a golf ball brings, indicates the direction shift of a biologically significant improvement of circumstances releasing you from the suffering of the first tee competition build to the joy of hitting the golf ball.
Loss aversion refers to the relative strength of two motives: we are driven more strongly to avoid losses than to achieve gains. A reference point in sport is sometimes the status quo, but it can also be be a goal in the future: not achieving a goal is a loss, exceeding the goal is a gain. As we might expect from negative dominance, the two motives are not equally powerful. The aversion to the failure of not reaching the goal is much stronger than the desire to exceed it.
I find many students adopt short-term goals they strive to achieve but not necessarily exceed. They reduce there efforts when they have reached an immediate goal.
This conundrum in sport is the need to set goals that are high that may feel insane to reach but have a pathway of linking movements that step you towards that goal,.
Every challenging target to hit the ball to in practice, tough competitions to enter you should view as loss to not attempt as its a failure to your end goal. This process of mapping your brain in such a way creates a rise in performance as the sixthsense is driven to avoid loss in search of pleasure, and that any frustrations you show in the heat of competition is your I’Ego failing to connect to your sixthsense, empowering you to the mercy of negative trumping the positive.
Becoming aware of this process is very important if you wish a sustained successful career in sport.
Thought Attention
Ones sixthsense can only act on a positive thoughts to create action, ‘I do not want to go’ has to be turned into a positive so the subconscious only registers ‘I want to go‘ matched the inner thought with the physical world is done through the eyes to plot the movement forward. Complexity in what seems simplicity of thought.
Frustration and becoming impatient is a sign of disconnect from your sixthsense. Being a winner in sport is ‘attaching’ ones talent with insane self-belief which enables a positive flow of patient humble thoughts the sixthsense acts upon.
The thinking of were born talented is nothing more than cognitive disillusions.
To be a consistent winner is being able to operate at a level above your opponents’ physical or mental being.
Failures in sport accrues when one tries to balance risk in a conscious control way such like how your consciously reading the text in front of you, rather than players reacting instinctively to what actually needs to be done in the moment to trigger ones loss aversion that enables pushing your own abilities at the right time, in the right moment, dictated by your SixthSense, because the future cannot be predicted, and by the time one gets enough conscious knowledge to predict the future to act upon with confidence, the time needed to apply it to win has run out.
The importance of consistent success in any sporting competition is paying attention to the random thoughts you discard in casual thinking, as unprocessed thoughts bubbling away in the depths of the mind attracting the attention of the eaves dropping
SixthSense to become primed to act upon, causing negative random glitches in movements within the heat of the moment, that has you failing with frustration to your conscious I’Ego totally unaware of creating this damaging casual thought process.
The skill is being able to focus one’s thoughts consistently only on positive actions to where you want to go and do, but to also pay attention to any negative self destruct throw away thoughts as these become potential actions of where you do not wish to go or do.
Pushing your Boundaries
As kids were pushing the boundaries every moment, as we get older the boundaries become more consciously calculated, the key is to constantly be curious freeing our human curiosity impulses to push the boundaries from which ones SixthSense will instinctively control, sending signals through emotions to what can or cannot be done in that ‘moment’, in that ‘time’, rather than one applying the conscious calculation which becomes a risk, because your not paying attention to what you can actually achieve with your body on that day, within that moment. There needs to be a balancing of thoughts between the two consciousness exchange, from which the brain plasticity remaps its topography in matching and improving it into a skill.
Imagine if you truly were in control of this skill as say a golf PGA Tour player, your be constantly pressing towards the boundary edges of your optimal abilities from the very first tee, you are unconsciously receiving signals of ways to rip the ball into the flag once in range, these are not reckless go for it signals they are what you can do.
The key to all this is there always there to access, signals that the western way of learning consciously suppress mistaking them as emotions trying to trip one up, rather than understanding its their SixthSense trying to connect with them.
Tigers Woods advantage in golf is his innate ability within his thoughts to be constantly pushing, his way of plotting his ball around the course is constantly balancing to what he can achieve on that day in that moment, Phil Micklelson is another such player, both constantly pushing the boundaries they never view their shots as safe or slightly off target, to them its a very close to achieving. If there golf balls go astray it is never through wondering thoughts but just the pushing of their boundaries of ones physical abilities in that moment, and that’s what makes them exhilarating to watch.
In sport as a whole rather than waiting for the right moment try challenging yourself, keep pushing the boundaries first in practice to doing the hardest first from the off and put that into competition and see how improved you become around others.
Coaching Boundaries
My Thoughts in coaching is the same as I have in competitive sports to be the best I can be above the rest. I feel I am one of the finest multitalented sportsman towards the array of sports I can excel at, I push the boundaries of coaching through my own intense practicing to what I preach, and the need to apply my own text rather than the following of others to be able to push those progressive boundaries, for me it’s a sport within a sport applying my switched on ways in coaching, to constantly push the boundaries that gives my clients the best opportunity to excel. Rather than following the chronicles laid down by others I choose to be different and challenge the Textbooks of old that when written in the past would view my text as the future, which no one can predict unless the boundaries are pushed challenging the plasticity of the brain towards changing the topography of one’s mindful approach to it’s thinking process.
Now these descriptive personal explanatory words above can be construed as a rambling arrogant approach of an I ‘Ego image pushing through, or viewed as a challenging way of pushing the coaching boundaries like talking the talk with insane self belief ‘but’ by backing it up from years of dedication to practicing sports and the process of linking to ones SixthSense applying a humble ‘knowing, that you know‘ installs confidence in ones actual coaching skill, rather than a manifesting conscious hope of a skill ‘not knowing, you don’t know, you don’t know’.
Priming Anchors
The bewilderment effects of using varieties priming in coaching is another progressive area. The psychology mechanism that produce anchoring make us far more suggestible than most of us would want to be. You reading this do not realise just how much your thoughts and behavior are influenced by stimuli to which you pay no attention at all, and even by stimuli of which you are totally unaware.
Priming research has shown how our thoughts and behavior are influenced much more than we know or want, by the environment of the moment. They do not respond to subjective experience is very effective in coaching, forming an outside pathway to guide the student in areas bypassing his conscious awareness direct to his subconscious, enabling the applying of content that effects the students willingness to follow without them being aware of it.
Anchoring effects work in a similar way. You are always aware of the anchor and even pay attention to it, but you do not know how it guides and constrains your thinking, because you cannot imagine how you would have thought if the anchor had been different (or absent).
This is such a powerful skill as a coaching aide when used correctly as you can guide the student to specific areas enhancing not only there muscle technique of movements, but also how to operate in competition by becoming aware of anchors that will inhibit there performance but also give them a huge advantage over there peers in the heat of the sporting battle.
To give you an example think of “A Big Red Kangaroo with big feet and floppy ears” have you the vision? If you have, you now experiencing a priming anchoring effect put into your head just by reading it.
This skill has enabled me to learn new sports fast by becoming aware of outside influences that inhibit my progress to pay attention to how they slowed my progress, mentally giving me an edge in competition to maintain an high consistent output. This enables coaching students rising to a whole new awareness above their expectations as they learn to bypass their limited thinking conscious mind to their all powerful subconscious mind, with the ability in splicing in new movements, from which latter down the technical road of movement one becomes consciously aware. A form of wizardry comes into the coaching as I mindfully make the student aware of this phenomena in the process of learning to build a strong memory of future accessing the habit of skill.
Sport Meditation
Monks spend a life time achieving an ability to empty the mind allowing thoughts to flow freely with no conscious attachment through meditation, your author has been doing this form of meditation in sport since the age six.
An empty mind filled only with the present moment of thought to the action is mindfully aware of the senses channeling the purity of thought guiding them to areas of muscles engaging the action. Thoughts of options radiating around my present thought waiting patiently there turn to be implemented.
The muscles operates at first as if infants, receiving new signals of movement issued by the all knowing SixthSense, conscious thoughts that are mindfully aware by being patient to allow for the SixthSense muscle signal pathways to strengthen, enables a confidence of insane belief to grow in awareness that any sport can be conquered through the willingness to take ‘Time,’ to mindfully learn how to pay attention to your thoughts once the foundations have been set. The challenges these series of books present is in pushing the boundaries from the first tee off, maximizing your ‘Time’ to learn, rather than skipping by giving no Time to change apart from a brief surge down the last stretch eighteenth hole. But... this kind of intense thought focus actually uses a lot of energy so I advise to eat good nutrition brain foods like avocados and walnuts to help the process keeping away from process sugars.
Emotions
The times one becomes overwhelmed by so many mechanical thoughts getting lost on where to begin in solving the problem, our very own ground hog day as you apply the same mistake over and over. It can be any sport even in the ‘Pro Game’ the loss of form by those deep-rooted habits from learning the techniques bubbling up into the fray when placed under pressure, where the most powerful emotion overwhelms all else that being the ‘Fear Response’.
Where all our natural senses shut down and the long forgotten fragments of a bad habit comes slithering back to haunt ones moment, helping to perform the conscious desire of expectation through fear to fail.
Teachings in sport talk about simple changes, tips from magazines to help band aide us in the moment, unfortunately change is not so easy as you need to change a few variables into one’s thinking and ‘Time Perspective’ towards being ‘motivated’ to enjoy the process of change, in finding the correct amount of time to practice for the change.
There’s only one sure way that’s still very much uncommon in the world of coaching along with competition play, in how to effectively connect to this greater part of us that being the ‘SixthSense’.
This unconscious mystical part that we sense sometimes its presence but it’s not commonly linked in Western future oriented thinking, ‘but’ having access to is a very healthy perspective. Connecting the conscious to understand this unconscious perspective, the past, the present, the future, the physical, the mental and the spiritual elements in life are not separate, but closely interconnected within you. Empowering to transform you into the next generation of switched on sportsman.
